RE: Hydrualic Motorcycle lift

I have a 2007 Winnebago Vectra. Last year I installed a motorcycle lift by Hydralift. Load capacity is 1000 lbs, easily lifts my fully dressed Harley. You should check it out, many of my friends use one. The online site is Hydralift-usa.com
My Vectra and many others are at or very close to the rear axle weight. I looked at the hydra lift, did the math and realized my rear axle would have been over a 1200 pounds of the axle capacity. We went with a Tandem Tow Dolly by Race City RV Products

RE: Picture posting thread...anyone into it?

Dee - Thanks! I prefer snow on my laptop and not on my yard! :W :B
Jim - Very educational! Cool info, and real nice pics! :)
Jon - Terrific work posting the 1950 pics! :C
Since trying time exposed pictures for night shots, I got the idea to apply it elsewhere, too. This is a 5-second exposure of my Grandfather's pocket watch. Check out the second hand. Time sure flies! :)
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y205/pkjr/DSC_0278.jpg
I have a similar watch from my dad also. I will try to take a picture about the same size and compare the watches side by side. Any idea on the age of that pocket watch?

For those that expressed interest, I finished up the 1950 trip web page with a few more photos. The page is at http://www.lakeshoreimages.com/trip1950.html
I think most of us would run from this guy today (that's me on the right)...

You have some amazing photos on that web page. I really liked the Great Salt lake photo with your family in the water and the old motorcycle on the beach. Thanks for your efforts and sharing!

RE: Picture posting thread...anyone into it?

We are still parked at Jetty Park at Cape Canaveral. We have been waiting to see one of these. The solid rocket boosters (SRB) that fall from the space shuttles are reused. They sink then they are floated and dragged back to Nasa. The nose cones and parachutes are recovered and refurbished also. Here are a couple of pictures taken today. The Freedom Star is one of the srb recovery ships. Picture posting can even be educational :)

RE: Picture posting thread...anyone into it?

It didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to. I think I wanted a little more light but I did get to witness the last ever night time shuttle launch. Having never done it before and being 12 miles from the the launch site had me guessing on how to set the camera up. What a spectacular view!
Jim
Very neat shot even if it was not the way you wanted it to be!
You were 12 miles from the launch site?
Your datastorm locater still has you back in Georgia!
Did you drive the car to Cape Canaveral and leave the RV back at Crooked River SP?
Thanks all. I forgot to update my datastorm. we are still at Cape Canaveral

RE: Picture posting thread...anyone into it?

This was taken at Golden Hill State Park, NY on Lake Ontario. The flowers were from my brother's wedding and they lasted for our week long vacation! It was great putting out our table cloth and flowers at every campsite we went to.

Wow Marites! What a very pretty picture!:)
(BTW.. what campsite # was this? Looks like a great site! Whatta view!:) )
Thanks Carolyn. We were at site #37 which really was a great site. There are many sites along the water. We were there early June and there was a cool breeze coming off the lake. I think it may be a bit warmer in the middle of the summer because there isn't a lot of shade. Golden Hill State Park is also home to a lighthouse (fancy that!). The lighthouse is unique because it is one of the few lighthouses you can sleep in. It has a section that you can rent like a vacation rental (I think 2 or 3 bedrooms). Camping suited us just fine. The lighthouse is still operational so you can see the lighted beacon at night. This is 30 Mile Point Lighthouse at sunset.

Marites, I saw your picture and thought it was so beautiful. I also thought that some of the highlights were hidden from the image. I downloaded it and without manipulating it too much I was able to bring out some detail from the Lighthouse and lush green grass. I hope you don't mind.

My photo for the day comes from a car show we went to over the weekend.
Took 60-some odd photos but I won't bore you with them all.
I thought this car was sorta neat:

I think it is time for another spider or two. I took this today while on a hike in Crooked River State Park, Georgia. I think it is a Golden Orb Weaver.
